SoCal Gas Check Presentation

The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles gratefully received a $325,000 gift from SoCal Gas in support of our FEED LA program. The LA Y welcomed our friends from SoCal Gas at our Weingart East Los Angeles Y to commemorate the generous investment which will be used to continue providing fresh produce and resources to over 20,000 low-income families and seniors throughout Los Angeles County.

The LA Y’s FEED LA program provides fresh food and nutritious meals in underserved areas and aims to eliminate food insecurity throughout the county. Hunger continues to be a pressing and widespread issue with a recent study revealing approximately 1 in 4 residents face food insecurity. The LA Y remains steadfast in our commitment to ensuring Los Angeles residents have access to healthy food choices. To date, the LA Y’s FEED LA program has distributed over 9 million pounds of fresh produce to low-income families and seniors.
