On Friday, April 18, we hosted our 66th Annual Good Friday Breakfast at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. The Good Friday Breakfast is an LA Y tradition where we gather to celebrate the season of renewal, hope, and join together in unity. It offers us a chance to pause and reflect, gathering not only to honor tradition but also to celebrate the hope, strength and resilience found within our community.
Joining us at our Good Friday breakfast, Wendy Gruel, our Chair of the Board of Directors of the LA Y introduced our host Dan Guerro, who led our event and welcomed our speakers.

Our inspiration Liam Painter, the 24th Secretary-General for Model United Nations from the Crowell Family YMCA shared his inspiring story. Liam joined the YMCA Model United Nations program, which gave him opportunity and a sense of belonging, promoting his growth which ultimately transformed his life. His story captivated everyone and certainly took the spotlight of the morning.
Christina Rose, the President & CEO of Rose Policy Solutions gave an uplifting reading from the New Testament. Sharing a meaningful message which captured the spirit of Good Friday.

Our keynote speaker, Miguel A. Santana, the President & CEO of California Community Foundation gave an inspiring keynote address about the power of working together to achieve the greatest impact and of the bright future we can build.
"Today is about optimism and promises, it's about looking towards a future that may be hard to see. I am filled with gratitude, as Angelinos we are united by empathy, shared love, and the commitment that the days ahead will be better."
John H. Semcken III gave the benediction, leading us all in a collective moment where we gave acknowledgement to the meaning of Good Friday, and new beginnings.

Finally, The Sound of LIght gave a finale performance of musical spectacle, which captivated the room and brought everyone together.
The 66th Annual Good Friday Breakfast was a celebratory moment of joy which reminded us the importance of community and the impact we can make when we all come together. Here’s to new beginnings and a bright future ahead.
