Juneteenth is about celebrating Black Freedom & Culture. This year the Crenshaw Y focused on strengthening black families through mental and physical health, art, education, wealth building and play.
The community event took place on Saturday, June 18, at the Crenshaw Family YMCA branch located on 3820 Santa Rosalia Drive. The facility was transformed into a whimsical, floral community garden that provided all the positive vibes. WalkGood LA led outdoor yoga in front of the stunning new mural designed by Laci Jordan. In the beautifully renovated gymnasium, families could try art therapy, enjoy live musical performances by kids, and network with community leaders.
"The Crenshaw Family YMCA is overwhelmed with joy! We want to thank all of our team members, partners, parents, and community members for making our annual Juneteenth a beautiful day." - Veda Ramsay-Stamps, Executive Director, Crenshaw Family YMCA
