From technology assistance to homework and classwork support, our staff will help your child navigate through the virtual school day and remain on task. While not working on schoolwork, your child will be engaged in a variety of YMCA activities, from arts, crafts, recreation, STEM and enrichment, all designed to maintain physical distancing while still providing a lot of fun.

Although we cannot completely replace the role of a school teacher, our caring and nurturing staff will assist in supplementing your child’s distance learning experience.

As local school districts adapt their plans for the upcoming school year, you may be wondering how you will navigate through the new school day structure, while meeting the demands of work and home. The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is here to support you! The YMCA continues to adapt to community needs and supports our neighbors when they need us most. The last several months have been no exception. We are pleased to extend safe school-age child care and distance learning support options to you and your family, as we all work together through this pandemic.

    General Documents:

COVID-19 Safety Precautions & Guidelines: At the YMCA, safety is our number one priority. We are committed to operating programs that adhere to all Public Safety rules, regulations and guidelines to ensure that all children, staff, parents, guardians and authorized representatives are safe, while at the YMCA! Our current program ratios are 1 YMCA staff member for everyone 12 children, with a maximum of 12 children per room. All facilities are cleaned throughout the day and deep cleaned every evening. For a complete listing of our COVID-19 safety guidelines, including hand washing procedures, face covering guidelines, check-in procedures, daily wellness checks & screening and more, please download our 2020 Program Handbook above.

Program Closures & Cancellations Due to Low Enrollment: COVID-19 has presented some unique challenges. As the YMCA works to revive its child care, before/after school, recreational enrichment, distance learning and day camp programs, it is important that YMCA programs remain viable so that the programs can continue to operate. The YMCA reserves the right to close and cancel any program that is not meeting its minimum enrollment requirements. If a program to close, either temporarily or permanently, the YMCA will make every attempt to notify the parent, guardian or authorized representative as soon as possible so that other arrangements can be made.
