Burbank Community YMCA joins the LA Y!
Welcoming the Burbank Community YMCA to the YMCA of the Metropolitan Los Angeles Association
We are delighted to announce a significant milestone in the growth of the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles (LA Y). Our Board of Directors, together with the Board of the Burbank Community YMCA, approved an asset transfer to expand our network to include this established Y, furthering our mission to strengthen communities across Los Angeles County.
The Burbank Community YMCA has been a vital institution in its community for generations. This asset transfer ensures its legacy continues while providing enhanced stability for the future. By joining forces, we're creating a stronger foundation that will allow the Burbank facility to continue serving its community while benefiting from the resources, stability, and support of the LA Y Association.

The Burbank Community YMCA Board of Directors evaluated the options to maintain the sustainability of the Burbank Community YMCA and determined this was the best option.
On September 24, 2024 the Board of Directors voted to officially transfer the assets of the Burbank Y to the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles. The LA Y will provide the infrastructure to support the long-term sustainability of the Burbank Community YMCA and its ability to continue delivering high-quality impact to the vibrant Burbank community.
Yes, when a Burbank Community YMCA member signs up with the LA Y, they can utilize any of the LA Y's 27 other facilities. Burbank Y members can also access the LA Y's group exercise classes, youth sports programs, personal training, and swim lessons.

No, they will be less! Being a part of the LA Y means the prices go down and the benefits go up!
Possibly! The YMCA has a partnership with Renew Active®, One Pass™, and Aaptiv to provide members access to all LA Y locations. As an Optum Fitness Program participant, you can receive a membership to your local YMCA at no cost.
Flex and annual memberships will be honored until their renewal dates.
